Solarium / Sunroom

Solarium/Sunroom

A solarium or sunroom is defined as a room with a glass roof but we choose to define ours as one where the walls are also made of glass. Our solariums can have glass walls on one, two or all three sides in addition to the glass roof. The structure mounts on a perimeter curb and attaches and flashes to the house at the top and the two sides. The Royalite frame supports the glass. This is an attractive way to open your house to the outdoors without being subjected to the vagaries of the climate. Architectural Skylight Specifications

Glazing Options

Solarium glazing is typically done with high performance glass products to prevent the excessive heat loss or heat gain that can result from the large open glass area.

Standard glass make-up is with insulated glass to limit heat loss and performance tinted or low-e glass products to control heat gain where required. Translucent or pattern glass is available if more diffused lighting is desired. All glass units are provided with code compliant exterior panels of tempered safety glass and interior panes of laminated safety glass. This combination also provides the maximum protection from ultraviolet light.
